The latest electric scooter to come from BMW Motorrad can cover 99 miles on full charge, reaches a top speed of an impressive 80 mph and takes just four hours and 30 minutes to charge. Not only is the BMW C Evolution scooter the culmination of years of concepts, prototyping and engineering, it represents the passion of the fastest woman on an electric bike – Eva Håkansson.
Håkansson set the world speed record for an electric vehicle on the Bonneville Salt Flats in 2014 and has long been an evangelist for eco-mobility. Recently, she has taken a particularly interest in the BMW C Evolution thanks to its stunning good looks, incredible performance and most importantly, it’s all-electric powertrain.
“I want to show that electric vehicles can be fast and sexy,” she said. “Electric vehicles are unbeatable in terms of technology: they are phenomenally efficient, quiet, emission-free and are not dependent on any one energy source.”

After an impressive debut on BMW’s home turf in Europe, the BMW C Evolution has finally come stateside, and is available in California before it’ll be for sale anywhere else.
In the electric scooter class, limited performance has traditionally been the Achilles’ heel, but BMW’s C Evolution puts all of that in the past. This bike delivers 99 thrilling miles between charges and a top speed that outclasses many four-wheel options. Despite the BMW C Evolution weighing-in at almost 600 lbs., which is around 8 lbs. heavier than its conventional big brother the C650 GT, the scooter feels very light when you’re moving, largely due the battery being housed securely on the chassis so there’s no sagging or slipping.
