BMW Motorrad might be known for their role in adventure motorcycling, but don’t discount their maxi scooters including the brand-new BMW C 400 X. This segment is part of a line in the premium BMW scooters which is led by the popular BMW C 600 Sport plus the BMW C 650 GT. This ultimate urban mobility ride is the perfect addition to the mid-size scooter segment and features some amazing qualities.
The new BMW C 400 X features a single-cylinder engine that produces 34 horsepower at 7500 rpm. It also features a Continuously Variable Transmission. Since this is combined with the stiff drivetrain swing arm, you experience minimum vibration and a smooth ride.
Traction control comes standard on the C 400 X and keeps you safe while riding on slippery terrain. This dynamic and sporty scooter also features twin-front disc brakes and a single-disc in the back with ABS, so stopping is never a concern.
Performance isn’t all this scooter offers. The C 400 X comes in your choice of two colors: the Zenith Blue Metallic or Alpine White Non-Metallic. LED lighting is standard on the scooter and there is an additional daytime running light option. Also, there is a multi-functional instrument cluster that features a 6.5-inch TFT screen available as an ex-works option.
If you are concerned about driving in hazardous weather, you’ll be happy to know that the body has superior weather and wind protection. On top of that, storage on this scooter is amazing with the BMW Flexcase. This under-seat area holds two full-size helmets and allows room for even more gear.
