BMW motorcycle riders around the globe are gearing up for regional qualifiers for the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2018 that will be held in Mongolia.
The Central Asia edition of the global adventure motorcycle competition will happen in summer 2018 but necessary regional qualification events will be held throughout this year. Non-professional BMW riders should sign up now to take part in the event.
More than a dozen teams from as many countries will be recruiting the best talents from those who participate in these 2+ day regional competitions. Riders will have to prove their ability in riding and handling BMW motorcycles as well as how well they can work with teammates to adapt to terrain, conditions and other challenges. Regional qualification challenges will closely mirror those that will be present during the International GS Trophy event. The three chosen riders are then flown to Mongolia where they will compete with other teams from the world over. All competitors are supplied with new and personalized BMW GS motorcycles they’ll ride during the event.
Mongolia, sandwiched between Russia and China, is a country admired by motorcyclists for its scenery, terrain and challenging climate that presents drastic temperature swings that will test the adventure skills of the best riders. Previous International GS Trophy events have taken place in North Africa, South Africa, South America, North America and Southeast Asia.
