The striking new K 1600 B from BMW has been drawing compliments from all corners of the motorcycle industry and among enthusiasts since its recent launch. With looks that give the motorcycle a powerful feel and almost intimidating performance, it’s not hard to understand why BMW’s latest addition is set to be such a huge success. Here’s what several reviewers had to say about this impressive bike.
The inline six-cylinder powerplant garnered a number of compliments from reviewers including glowing praise from Cycle World: “Big B could stand for Big Bike and Big Power. Yet at lower revs it’s a calm and smooth-running machine.” Their review continued that the Bagger is “untouchable” in its class “It goes like hell, it corners like a pro, and has lots of pleasurable gizmos.

“The K 1600 B will raise your pulse and force ear-to-ear smiles. It pulls hard and quick, a thoroughbred shooting out the gates at the Kentucky Derby,” The Drive wrote. “The K 1600 B is a beautiful, performance-oriented Bagger with all the capability one would expect from Bavarian Motor Works.”
Although this is a motorcycle that looks every inch as powerful as the performance it delivers, it is also reminiscent of a classic sport-tourer. Although you can easily slice and dice corners and take an aggressive stance on the K 1600 B, you don’t have to. It’s just as enjoyable to simply enjoy the ride with some laid-back riding and this is largely due to the motorcycle’s sensible construction, as is perhaps expected from the BMW brand.
