BMW Motorrad USA just released details regarding the 2020 BMW S 1000 RR and we couldn’t wait to share them with you. We expect the first bikes to show up this summer; just in time to take a vacation. Let’s get a closer look at this revolutionary bike.
What makes this new BMW motorcycle special is the amount of standard equipment that you can expect. This includes an LED headlight, LED turn signals, 6.5-inch TFT display and an on-board computer with multi-controller. You will also get Hill Start Control, Gear Shift Assist Pro, an adjustable clutch lever and four ride modes. With the ABS Pro optimized for cornering and updated dynamic design, you’ll also achieve a ride unlike you’ve ever experienced.
BMW made some substantial tech and engine improvements to make this a cutting-edge bike. The engineers also reduced the weight 25 pounds compared to the 2019 model. Now, it weighs just 434 pounds or 426 pounds with the M Package. The engine itself weighs nine pounds less than previous models and includes improved handling. It also produces 205 horsepower now instead of 200. This power delivery is perfectly balanced and combined with the BMW ShiftCam Variable Engine Timing system to provide you with a ride unlike any other.
For the 2020 model year, you have some new color options with the BMW S 1000 RR inventory. Choose from Racing Red or M Motorsport for an updated look. There are also several package options to offer more versatility. The Select Package comes with a tire pressure monitor, Next-Generation DDC, cruise control and heated grips. An Updated Race Package gives you forged wheels, Ride Modes Pro, an M chassis kit and M lightweight battery. While initial supplies are limited, you can also get the M Package. This comes with the M Motorsport paint, carbon wheels, a sport seat, lightweight battery and M Chassis Kit.
