The BMW R 12 nineT and R 12 are built on a traditional two-cylinder boxer engine and a propeller shaft drive. They have a 1,170cc engine that delivers 109 horsepower at 7,000 RPM in the R 12 nineT and 95 horsepower at 6,500 RPM in the R 12. The engine also features a new airbox as part of the redesigned chassis. There is also a traditional twin-pipe exhaust system, two rear silencers, and a reverse cone design.

The R 12 models feature the newly developed tubular bridge steel space frame. The tubular steel is connected to the main frame for excellent handling. The new frame design eliminates the need for fastening and reduces weight. The frame gives these motorcycles cleaner appearances.
Additional features on the BMW R 12 nineT enhance the motorcycle’s classic look and simplify charging your devices. There are two round analog gauges, a USB-C port on the left side, and a 12-volt socket on the right side.
