The BMW R 12 nineT and R 12 are built on a traditional two-cylinder boxer engine and a propeller shaft drive. They have a 1,170cc engine that delivers 109 horsepower at 7,000 RPM in the R 12 nineT and 95 horsepower at 6,500 RPM in the R 12. The engine also features a new airbox as part of the redesigned chassis. There is also a traditional twin-pipe exhaust system, two rear silencers, and a reverse cone design.
Other performance features of the BMW R 12 nineT and R 12 include:
Radially mounted four-piston monobloc brake calipers, steel flex brake lines, and floating 310 mm brake discs.
“Rain,” “Road,” and “Dynamic” riding modes in the R 12 nineT.
“Roll” and “Rock” riding modes in the R 12.
Powerful LED light units as standard and adaptive Headlight Pro as optional equipment ex works.
Keyless Ride is standard.
An optional tailored range of ex-works customization equipment.
The R 12 models feature the newly developed tubular bridge steel space frame. The tubular steel is connected to the main frame for excellent handling. The new frame design eliminates the need for fastening and reduces weight. The frame gives these motorcycles cleaner appearances.
Additional features on the BMW R 12 nineT enhance the motorcycle’s classic look and simplify charging your devices. There are two round analog gauges, a USB-C port on the left side, and a 12-volt socket on the right side.
